A comprehensive continuum of international education that develops inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The International Baccalaureate offers a continuum of international education through three challenging programmes that encourage students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners.
The Primary Years Programme focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom. The PYP nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning through a student-centered approach to education.
The PYP curriculum framework begins with the premise that students are agents of their own learning and partners in the learning process. It prioritizes people and their relationships to build a strong learning community. Through six transdisciplinary themes, students explore concepts that have local and global significance, using knowledge and skills derived from six subject areas as well as transdisciplinary skills.
Central to the PYP is the belief that structured, purposeful inquiry is a powerful vehicle for learning that promotes meaning and understanding. The programme culminates in the Exhibition, a collaborative project where students demonstrate their ability to take responsibility for their learning and their capacity to take action. This experience synthesizes the essential elements of the PYP and shares them with the whole school community.
The Middle Years Programme is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. It fosters the development of skills for communication, intercultural understanding and global engagement—essential qualities for young people who are becoming global leaders.
The MYP comprises eight subject groups, providing a broad and balanced education for early adolescents. The programme emphasizes intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and the real world. It fosters the development of critical and reflective thinking skills, preparing students for success in further study and in life beyond the classroom.
A key component of the MYP is the Personal Project, completed in the final year. This culminating experience allows students to demonstrate the skills they have developed throughout the programme. Students undertake an independent, self-directed piece of work that is the product of their own initiative and creativity. This project provides an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly personal and creative piece of work of their choosing.
The Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of study designed for students aged 16 to 19. It is a broad-based two-year course that aims to encourage students to be knowledgeable and inquiring, but also caring and compassionate. There is a strong emphasis on encouraging students to develop intercultural understanding, open-mindedness, and the attitudes necessary for them to respect and evaluate a range of points of view.
The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and the Extended Essay. Through the DP core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service. These three elements are at the heart of the DP philosophy and challenge students to apply their knowledge and skills.
The IB Diploma is internationally recognized by the world's leading universities. Research demonstrates that DP students are exceptionally well prepared for university studies. They develop the skills and attitudes necessary for success in higher education, such as academic writing, critical thinking, research skills, and time management. Universities worldwide value the DP's rigorous assessment and its emphasis on developing students who are inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring global citizens.
From early childhood through to university preparation, the IB continuum provides a seamless educational journey that develops the whole person—intellectually, personally, emotionally and socially.
