Why Families Choose HIS

A school day that builds strong minds - and good habits

Families arrive with different hopes, aspirations, and ambitions. Some focus only on academic pace and measurable progress, while others value a broader, holistic journey that nurtures talents, social growth, and emotional well-being.

At Healthy Mind International School, we believe children deserve it all. We bring rigorous academics together with psychological, social, and emotional development, alongside sport and talent discovery — always within a warm, supportive community that is a given for every child. Here, learners are not just educated, but empowered to become confident, compassionate global citizens, ready to thrive in every aspect of life.

At many schools, classrooms can feel crowded and overwhelming, with one teacher stretched across dozens of children. At HIS, we believe every child deserves to be truly seen, heard, and guided. That’s why we keep our mentor-to-student ratio at just 1:7.

This balance gives our teachers the space to notice the spark in each child — their unique personality, their way of learning, their pace of growth — and to nurture it with care. We know it’s not realistic for one person to provide that same level of individual attention to 15 or more children. But with 1:7, your child receives the time, patience, and encouragement they need, especially in the early years when personal guidance matters most.

Because at HIS, it’s not just about teaching a class — it’s about growing with each child, one step at a time.

Morning: Clear goals, quiet focus

The first lesson begins with a simple plan on the board—what we’re learning and how we’ll know we learned it. Teachers teach in short, focused bursts and then move students into practice: some work together, some work quietly, some get an extra challenge. If a concept wobbles, support comes early. If it clicks, we ask for deeper reasoning. It’s calm, purposeful, and respectful of time.

Mid-morning: Spaces that help learning

Our rooms are set up to make attention easier: natural light, flexible seating, and tools used only when they add value.

  • Library & Research Hub: students read, plan, and draft in quiet corners or idea zones.
  • Science: they test a thought, record what happened, and try again.
  • ICT & Robotics: they build, code, and see ideas take shape. Nothing is flashy for its own sake. The spaces do a simple job: help students think longer and better.

Midday: Food and water that support the brain

At Good Soul Café, meals are cooked fresh each morning. Plates are balanced so energy is steady through the afternoon. Across campus, RO water stations make refilling easy. Students often remind each other with a line they chose themselves: “Thinkers Drink Water.” These small habits—eating well and staying hydrated—show up later as better focus and better mood.

Afternoon: Stretch and craft

After lunch, teachers return to the morning’s goals. A model answer is shared, not to copy but to study the craft inside it—structure, evidence, and clear voice. Some students revisit a skill; others move to extension tasks in maths, languages, or the sciences. Everyone explains their thinking in writing or aloud. The pace is visible without feeling rushed.

Late day: Movement and expression

On the football pitch and in the pool, students learn timing, discipline, and teamwork. The gymnastics centre builds strength and confidence with safety in mind. Tennis and a multi-use court (which also supports basketball sessions) sharpen strategy and quick decisions. Indoors, music, dance, and ballet develop memory, rhythm, and stage presence—the same qualities that help in presentations and debates.

How we work with families

We keep communication simple and useful. You’ll hear what went well, what we’re working on next, and how to help at home without pressure. Plans are adjusted when a child is ready for more challenge or needs a different route to the same goal. We read both the data and the child.

For families who want strong academics

Ambition is welcome here. We use clear rubrics, regular checks for understanding, and well-judged extension work. Students connect ideas across subjects, write with structure, speak with care, and learn to revise their work. This is steady training for higher levels of study—not cramming, but consistent growth.

For families who want whole-child growth

Kindness, confidence, and respect are part of every lesson. Children learn to work with others, manage emotions, and take responsibility. They leave school not only with knowledge, but with good habits and a sense of how to use their learning well.

What "Healthy Mind" means at HIS

  • Clear goals, thoughtful teaching, meaningful practice.
  • Spaces that reduce noise and increase focus.
  • Fresh meals and clean water to keep energy even.
  • Movement and arts to develop the body, attention, and presence.
  • Adults who hold a high bar—and help children reach it.

Why families choose HIS

Because excellence here is steady and human. The learning is structured, the culture is warm, and children go home a little more confident each day.
